Privacy Policy

DRAFT — pending human legal review (roadmap MCC-022: agent-drafted, human-reviewed before App Store submission). This page describes Coffee Macros' actual behavior as implemented; it is not yet a human-reviewed legal document.

No accounts

Coffee Macros has no sign-in, no user profiles, and collects no name, email address, or other contact information. Every screen is usable immediately.

What stays on your device

Saved recipes are stored only in a local file on your device. They are never sent to us or to any third party, and there is no cloud sync or backup of your saves.

Analytics

The app uses PostHog, in anonymous-only mode, to count product interactions (which screens are viewed, which buttons are tapped) so we can tell whether the app is useful. Events are attached to a random identifier the PostHog SDK generates on this device — not your Apple ID, not an account (there are no accounts), and not your device's advertising or vendor identifier. We create no person profiles and supply no identity of our own.

PostHog also derives an approximate, network-level location from your connection at the moment each event is sent — country, region, city, postal code, timezone, and a rough accuracy radius — before your raw IP address is discarded; the IP itself is never stored with your events. This is coarse geography (roughly which city or metro area, not a street address): your exact coordinates (latitude and longitude) are never retained, and no precise location is ever collected. It's used only in aggregate, to see which regions use the app — never to identify you.

This is reported as Device ID + Product Interaction data, and approximate (Coarse) Location, used for Analytics, not linked to your identity, and not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites. No name, email, precise location, or user content is ever collected. There is no advertising, and no third-party tracking SDK of any kind.

Shared links

When you share a recipe, the link includes a fixed marker (?src=app_share) that only indicates the link came from inside the app — it does not identify you or your device, and it never changes per share. This site's host may log basic request information (like any web server) without cookies or personal identifiers.

Children

Coffee Macros is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from them.
